American Organ Institute at the University of Oklahoma Tour
Saturday, May 05, 2018, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM
Joseph Arndt and Adam Pajan have arranged a tour of the organ facilities at OU for Saint John’s parishioners. Tour participants will get a guided tour of the workshop, where all organ students learn about organ construction and design. Also included is a demonstration of several of the organs on campus, including the Fisk Organ in Gothic Hall.
This tour is offered to enrich parishioners’ understanding and appreciation for the King of Instruments, particularly as we look forward to the installation of our Schoenstein Organ this summer. The pipe organ is a complicated, fascinating instrument – everyone will get a behind-the-scenes glimpse of how they work. The American Organ Institute at OU is the only academic organ program in the world with an organ workshop. Bring your questions!
