I was confirmed in the Episcopal Church in 1984 and afterwards was a regular communicant of Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Opelika, AL. After my husband died in 2004 I moved to Pensacola, FL and then to Tulsa in 2008 where I transferred my membership to St. John's. My two daughters, Amy Schaffer and Whitney Jenkins, are also members of St. John's.
At St. John's I am a member and past president of Daughters of the King and recently have become a Eucharistic Minister and usher. Since fall 2015 I have been organizing and cooking lunch for Music at Midday.
My background and previous career was in nursing. I have a PhD in nursing and was Dean of Health Sciences at a community college in Opelika for 25 years. Much of my academic career also involved accreditation activities for nursing programs throughout the US.
